Where can a Sage Single Sided Roller Door be used?
Where can a Sage Single Sided Roller Door be used?
Sage Single Sided roller doors are the ideal closure solution
wherever an opening door would clog up bench space or interfere with
walking space. Some common examples include:
- On-bench pantries or appliance
garages
- Tight laundry areas/ironing board
cupboards/laundry chutes
- Caravans/Campervans
- Boats and Super Yachts
- Shop Cabinets
- School storage units
- Close off desk areas
Bi-fold doors are often used instead of roller doors, but they sweep across the bench and waste valuable space.
What materials can you make my Sage Single Sided roller door from?
We can make you a Sage Single Sided Roller Door from a wide range of materials, including:
- Melteca and Melamine
- Anodized Aluminium – this is a very popular finish
- Paint Quality MDF (or pine for very large doors)
- Solid Timbers or Veneers
- Vinyl Wrap e.g. Dezignatek and Arborline
- Unusual materials can also be used – we’ve used bamboo, someone’s t-shirt,
powdercoated aluminium in a metallic
colour… your imagination is the limit.
Are Sage Anodized Aluminium Roller Doors made from genuine anodized aluminium?
Yes, our slats are made from genuine extruded aluminium which we anodize and then attach to a fabric backing. There is no plastic in the slats (plastic interlocking slats can easily break). The handle is also made from anodized aluminium.
We at Meridian Joinery Ltd have used the aluminium roller door system made by Sage Doors Ltd for a number of our kitchens and have found that they are easy to install. They are a well-made and smart looking fixture in any application.
Do you have a modern handle option?
Yes! Our new bar handle option is a modern and durable alternative to the standard routed handle which is often used. This is made from the same material as the door and is available for most finishes. The older style routed handle is also still available, or you can choose to use your own handle on our blank handle rail.
Do Sage Single Sided Roller Doors sag in the middle?
No, Sage Single Sided Roller Doors have a double roller system which spreads the door’s weight evenly over its full width, preventing it from sagging and enabling the door to roll exceptionally smoothly. The backing fabric is also less likely to wear because there is less tension at the edge of the door than if the door was scraping over a plastic glide.
How easy is it to install a Sage Single Sided Roller Door? Do you offer a surround/pelmet?
Installation is very simple as we provide all the hardware and instructions. To make life even simpler, we can supply you with a mitred 3-piece anodized aluminium surround for a quick and accurate installation with no gaps (see photos for examples). However, aluminium is the only material that we offer a surround in at this stage.
